Six-foot-7 Phil Blackmar, who led the Charles Schwab Cup Championship after the first round, had other sports options to consider because of his height.
Blackmar had some power and made a good target as a first baseman in baseball.
“But I was slow (afoot),” Blackmar said.
Because he was 6-feet-7 Blackmar also thought about playing basketball.
“But I couldn’t jump,” he said.
In golf Blackmar didn’t have to run or jump but he could still hit it a long way.
