It’s John Cook’s tournament to lose
by padecky
John Cook is playing so well that the Charles Schwab Cup Championship is now his to lose, he is in such a commanding position.
Cook has a six-stroke lead after the third round. Those six shots are the largest in a Champions Tour event since Jay Haas led by six in this event four years ago. Cook’s 54-hole total of 197 matches the all-time Champions Tour 54-hole record of Jack Nicklaus in a 1990 Champions event.
Cook is good friends with Tiger Woods.
“I’m going to have to text Tiger,” Cook said, “and ask him how to hold onto a big league, since he is so good at doing that.”
